Holiday is located between Tarpon Springs and New Port Richey and officially given a name in the mid-1960s when directors of a local bank needed to identify it. A postal sub-station located on the nearby Holiday Drive was noted by the bankers, hence the town name came to be Holiday.

Historical "Holiday" The Baker House
Holiday is known for the Baker House which is located at 5744 Moog Road in Elfers. It is the oldest cracker house in western Pasco County. It has been restored as a museum and is open to the public from October through May. The house is located adjacent to Centennial Park Library. Elfers is near Holiday and New Port Richey.
